Google has rolled out a new subscription service, Google AI Ultra, priced at $249.99 per month, offering users access to its most advanced artificial intelligence tools and early features not yet available to the general public. Announced during its annual developer event, Google I/O, the new plan is aimed at users who want priority access to Google’s latest AI technologies.

The new service, called ‘Google AI Ultra’, is being marketed as a top-tier option for tech enthusiasts, business professionals, and creators seeking advanced capabilities in AI. According to Google, the plan includes priority access to the company’s most powerful AI model, Gemini 1.5 Pro, enhanced tools for research and content creation, and a broad range of exclusive experimental features.

Josh Woodward, who leads product development at Google Labs and oversees the Gemini app, described the Ultra plan as a VIP experience for users eager to explore AI innovation. He said the plan is designed for people who want to be at the forefront of emerging technology.

Packed With Tools and Perks

The AI Ultra subscription provides 30 terabytes of storage—one of the largest capacities currently offered by Google under any subscription. In addition to its storage offering, the plan includes a YouTube Premium membership and the highest usage allowances among all Google AI plans.

Among the tools included is Gemini’s new “DeepThink” mode, which is intended for users involved in deep research or complex tasks. Subscribers will also get access to new creative tools, such as Flow, a filmmaking assistant powered by AI, and Notebook LM, a tool that turns written notes into podcasts. Both are available with their full capabilities under this plan.

Users will also get early access to Veo 3, a new video-generation feature that can create short clips using only text prompts. Google is also testing a project called Mariner, an AI system that helps users complete multiple tasks at once, up to 10 simultaneously.

Competitive Push in a Growing AI Market

This launch comes as Google continues to explore ways to earn revenue beyond advertising, which has slowed in growth in recent years. By offering more premium options for its AI tools, the company is hoping to attract serious users, especially those looking for alternatives to products like OpenAI’s ChatGPT Pro, which launched last year at $200 per month.

The AI Ultra plan expands upon Google’s existing paid AI services under the Google One AI Premium tier, which ranges from $19.99 to $149.99 monthly, depending on storage and features.

Initially available in the United States, Google says it plans to launch the AI Ultra plan in other countries in the coming months.
